Day 0

We were vacationing in Traverse City, staying at Blossom Hotel & Suites and took a day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes NL.

Day 1

First we went to the Empire Bluffs Trail – 1.5 miles. After that trail, we went to the Philip A. Hart Visitor Center to get our passport book stamped. From there we went on the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive.

While on the drive, we stopped to go on the Cottonwood Trail – 1.4 miles. When hiking that trail, we veered off the trail to go on the dunes. On our way over to the dunes, Colleen spotted a neat (although sad) rock. A teenager passed away and there was a rock in his memory asking people to take it with them on their travels and leave it somewhere because he loved to travel. Colleen picked it up so we could take it to another state in a future trip.

For lunch we stopped in Glen Arbor and landed at the Cherry Public House, which was good. For our ice cream treat, we went to Cherry Republic’s Red Box Creamery just around the corner.   Finally, we ended our adventure for the day hiking the Pyramid Point Trail – 1.2 miles.
