We were in the area already due to another planned trip. See our post on the Gateway Arch National Park for more information.
This was a nicely preserved home of Ulysses S Grant. There’s a walking tour you can go on to check out the house as well as other buildings, such as the ice house and chicken house. In the stable, part of it has been converted into a museum. You get to learn about Ulysses S Grant’s life and how complicated things were when he fell in love with a woman who’s family believed in having slaves.
Everything was self paced and we spent 30-40 minutes here.
